How to list your homestay on MakeMyTrip and Goibibo

By , Managing Director, BitLegacy Solutions LLP · Last updated

One sign-up covers both MakeMyTrip and Goibibo

MakeMyTrip and Goibibo belong to the same group, Go-MMT. Property owners use one partner panel for both, called the InGo-MMT extranet. When you register there, you are signing up to sell on both sites. You don't need two separate registrations.

Go-MMT's own help pages describe the steps below. The screens do change from time to time, so if a screen looks different from what is written here, follow what the extranet shows you.

Before you start: what to keep ready

Collect these before you begin, so you don't get stuck halfway:

  • An email address you check often. It becomes your login username.
  • Your property's full address. It should match any registration document you upload.
  • Clear photos of every room, the bathrooms, common areas and the outside of the house.
  • Room details: how many rooms, beds per room, maximum guests and your prices.
  • House rules and policies, for example check-in and check-out times and cancellation terms.
  • Proof of ownership or a lease agreement, if you have one.
  • A relationship document if the property is owned by your spouse, your parents or someone else.
  • Your Aadhaar number, linked to your mobile for OTP.
  • Bank account number, IFSC code and account holder name, plus your PAN. Keep your TAN ready too, if you have one.

Step 1: Create your InGo-MMT partner account

  1. Open the InGo-MMT extranet login page: in.goibibo.com/extranet
  2. Click "Get started for free".
  3. Enter your full name.
  4. From the drop-down, choose that you are a hotel/property (not a channel manager).
  5. Enter your email address. This will be your username.
  6. Create a password and confirm it.
  7. Click "Register Now".
  8. Look in your inbox for an email from hotelpartners@go-mmt.com and click the activation link. If you can't find it, check your spam folder.
  9. Sign in with your email and the password you just created.

Step 2: Choose "Homestays & Villas"

After you sign in, the extranet asks what type of property you have. Choose "Homestays & Villas", then pick the option that fits best.

Choose carefully. Rooms in a family home, rented out separately, are a homestay. A whole house rented to one group is closer to a villa. The type you pick decides which questions come next and how your listing appears to guests.

Step 3: Add property details, rooms, photos and policies

Next, the extranet takes you through your listing details. Expect to fill in:

  • Property name and address. Put the pin exactly where your house is on the map. Guests use it to find you.
  • Amenities. Tick only what you actually provide, such as Wi-Fi, parking, meals or hot water. Guests complain when something listed isn't there.
  • Rooms. Add each room type with its beds, how many guests it fits and how many rooms of that type you have.
  • Photos. Go-MMT asks for at least 4 to 5 photos of the property and at least 3 of each room type, in landscape mode. Use bright daytime photos and show the bathroom too, because guests look for it.
  • Policies. Check-in and check-out times, cancellation rules, and house rules such as whether you allow couples, pets or smoking.
  • Prices and availability. Set your room rates and open the dates you want to sell.

The exact fields and their order can differ from this list. Make sure every section is complete before you submit.

Step 4: Finance and legal details

Ownership and relationship documents

Choose your ownership type from the drop-down. If you have a valid lease agreement or registration document, upload it, and check that its address matches your listing address. According to Go-MMT, this document is required for hotels but optional for homestays and villas. Your state may still require you to register the homestay with its tourism department; see homestay registration in India.

If someone else owns the property, such as your spouse or your parents, you will be asked for a relationship document. Go-MMT says you can also submit it after onboarding.

Aadhaar verification

Enter your Aadhaar number and verify it with the OTP. Go-MMT's help article says Aadhaar verification can speed up property activation.

Bank, PAN and TAN details

Bank details are mandatory for every property type. Go-MMT uses this account to pay you for prepaid bookings. Enter the account number, IFSC code and account holder name, then your PAN, and your TAN if you have one. The extranet also asks whether your property is registered under GST: give your GST details if it is, or select "No" if it isn't.

Step 5: Verification and going live

At the end, tick the final checkbox to confirm your details are correct. This checkbox also gives your consent for a third party to verify your property. Go-MMT doesn't publish a fixed time for this check, so watch your registered email and phone for questions.

You will also be shown commission terms and a partner agreement. Read them carefully before you accept. Commission rates aren't given on Go-MMT's public help pages; yours are per your partner agreement.

After you go live: keeping your calendar accurate

Once your listing is live, you can see bookings and payment status in the extranet. Go-MMT's "New to working with us" help section explains how.

The biggest risk now is overbooking. This happens when you sell the same room on MakeMyTrip, on another site, to a walk-in guest or over WhatsApp, and you forget to close it everywhere else. You can avoid it in two ways:

  • Close sold dates on every channel straight after each booking, by hand.
  • Use a channel manager. It keeps your rates and availability the same across all your listings, and it sends OTA bookings into one calendar.

Whichever way you choose, keep a single list of which rooms are sold for which dates. A notebook, a phone note and three apps never give the same answer.

Frequently asked questions

Is listing on MakeMyTrip free?

There is no sign-up fee. The registration page says "Get started for free". Commission rates aren’t published on Go-MMT’s public help pages; your terms are per your partner agreement, which you see before you accept.

Do I need a separate account for Goibibo?

No. MakeMyTrip and Goibibo share the InGo-MMT extranet, so one partner account covers both.

Is a property registration document mandatory for a homestay?

According to Go-MMT’s help pages, a lease or registration document is mandatory for hotels but optional for homestays and villas. If you have one, upload it and make sure the address matches your listing. Your state may still require you to register your homestay with its tourism department. That is a separate rule from MakeMyTrip’s.

What if the property is in my parents’ or my spouse’s name?

Choose the matching ownership type and upload a relationship document. Go-MMT says this document can also be submitted after onboarding.

How do I receive payment for bookings?

Bank details are mandatory. Go-MMT pays for prepaid bookings into the bank account you enter. You can check payment status in the extranet.

How do I avoid double bookings on MakeMyTrip and other sites?

Close dates on every channel as soon as a room is sold. You can do this by hand or with a channel manager that syncs availability across all your listings.

Do you sell rooms on MakeMyTrip and also take direct bookings? BitLegacy's Channel Manager keeps your rates, availability and reservations in sync between your desk and connected OTAs, such as MakeMyTrip. Check which channels are live for your property during setup. Read about the Channel Manager.
