Frequently asked questions
Is BitLegacy a Hotelogix alternative for expenses and GST?
For small hotels and homestays, yes. As of Oct 2026, Hotelogix’s public docs don’t show GSTIN validation with an automatic CGST/SGST vs IGST split on expenses, petty cash floats or OTA payout tracking. Hotelogix does show Tally and Zoho Books integrations and a wider accounting marketplace.
Does Hotelogix connect to Tally and Zoho Books?
Yes. Hotelogix’s Accounts manual links quick guides for Tally (including a transaction mode) and Zoho Books (invoice based). BitLegacy exports Tally XML and a Zoho Books expense CSV.
Can I reconcile OTA payouts with commission, TCS and TDS?
In BitLegacy, yes: each OTA booking shows gross, commission, TCS, TDS and expected net, and overdue payouts are flagged. As of Oct 2026, Hotelogix’s public docs don’t show this.
Does the Finance add-on cost extra?
No. Finance & Expenses is a free add-on, included at no extra cost on BitLegacy. As of Oct 2026, eZee’s and Hotelogix’s public docs don’t show a separate price for their expense features.
Can I send my expenses to Tally or Zoho Books?
Yes. Export for accountant creates a Tally XML file (payment and receipt vouchers with CGST, SGST and IGST input ledgers and your category-to-ledger mapping) and a Zoho Books expense CSV for the date range you pick. It is a file your accountant imports, not a live sync.
Does it work for homestays as well as hotels?
Yes. Finance & Expenses runs for hotel, homestay and restaurant properties, per property.
Does BitLegacy file my GST return?
No. The GST input credit report and CSV give your CA clean numbers by vendor GSTIN and month. Filing stays with your CA on the GST portal.
