Google Maps & GBP

Put your lodging website on Google Maps — when you are eligible

BitLegacy gives you a bookable website (and custom domain on paid plans). Google Business Profile (GBP) can show that URL on Search and Maps — but only when your business qualifies. This page is eligibility-first so you do not create pins Google will suspend. BitLegacy Hotels is hotel management software (hotel PMS) by BitLegacy Solutions LLP (India) for independent hotels and hospitality businesses.

The safe path

Website first. GBP only if eligible. Never fake a Maps pin for a vacant holiday home.

1. Own a bookable website

Guests landing from Maps need live availability or a clear stay request — not a brochure. BitLegacy websites include a commission-free booking path in the plan.

2. Prefer a custom domain

yourstay.com (or book.yourstay.com) looks more trustworthy on GBP than a temporary subdomain. Custom Domain is included on paid Hotel, Homestay, Farmhouse/Villa, and Resort plans.

3. Check Google eligibility

Staffed lodging, guest houses, and eligible local businesses with in-person customer contact may qualify. Individual holiday homes / vacant vacation rentals are often not eligible for their own GBP. When unsure, read Google’s guidelines before creating a profile.

4. Set website = your site, not Airbnb

On an eligible GBP, the website field should be your authoritative BitLegacy or custom-domain URL. Pointing only at an OTA listing gives Google and guests the wrong destination.

Do not do this

  • Do not create a GBP for every private Airbnb address if Google treats it as a non-eligible holiday home
  • Do not put keyword spam in the business name
  • Do not promise “Maps ranking in 7 days” — reviews, NAP consistency, and real demand still matter

Frequently asked questions

Can every Airbnb host put their house on Google Maps?

No. Google’s rules often exclude rental or holiday homes that are not operating as an eligible local business. Create a profile only if you qualify — suspensions hurt more than missing a pin.

Should GBP point to Airbnb or my own site?

If you have a bookable site, point GBP at your own website (ideally a custom domain). Keep Airbnb as a listing channel, not your only Google destination.

Does BitLegacy create Google Business Profiles for me?

No. You (or your agency) create and verify GBP in Google’s tools. BitLegacy provides the website URL, SEO publish, and booking path to put on an eligible profile.

What if I run several villas?

Do not spam one pin per bedroom. Use eligible business profiles carefully, and consider a Multiproperty brand hub plus each property’s own site.

Website ready. Maps only if allowed.

Publish your BitLegacy site, move to a custom domain when ready, then add the URL to an eligible Google Business Profile — not the other way around.
