Direct booking + UPI — vs OTA-only
OTA discovery can stay. Own the checkout on your site when guests already know you.
1. Direct booking website + UPI vs OTA-only
OTA-only means the platform often takes commission and owns the payment relationship. A BitLegacy guest site publishes availability and takes advances via Razorpay where entitled — UPI first for Indian guests — so direct stays keep that commission off the room. Gateway MDR still applies. Channel Manager is separate when OTAs stay live (not in Starter ₹299).
2. Guest site included on Starter — Razorpay still entitlement-gated
Hotel Starter from ₹299/month (2 rooms) includes guest website and commission-free booking tools on paid lodging plans, plus Website SEO (custom domain is an add-on at ₹2,499/month (included in Business)). That does not auto-mean Free hotel plans get Razorpay UPI. Guest checkout: Paid Marketplace path or Pro-included — confirm on /pricing before promising UPI to guests. 3. Razorpay checkout where entitled
Collect advances through Razorpay (UPI, cards, net banking) when entitlement includes guest payments. Advances follow property pay-window settings. Do not invent MDR percentages or “zero payment fees forever.”
4. MDR honesty (not a BitLegacy room cut)
Commission-free means BitLegacy does not take an OTA-style cut on direct stays. Razorpay / bank MDR is a gateway fee on the payment — same stance as the Pricing guest-fees FAQ. Guest checkout Razorpay is not BitLegacy SaaS subscription billing.
5. After pay: WhatsApp link + GST folio (secondary)
Confirm the stay with Manual WhatsApp Notify and send your booking link for enquiries — pay still happens on the site, not WhatsApp Pay-inside-chat. 6. Multiproperty shared Razorpay pool

Can guests pay with WhatsApp Pay inside the chat?

How is this different from OTA payments?
On OTAs the platform takes commission and often owns the payment relationship. On your BitLegacy site, direct stays keep that commission off the room; you still pay normal gateway fees. Keep OTAs via Channel Manager when needed — packaging on /channel-manager.
Can several villas share one Razorpay account?
A Multiproperty hub can use a shared Razorpay pool when configured. Each property still keeps its own subscription; shared pool is not automatic payout split to managers. Hub: /portfolio-manager.
